The Reds slipped to a 3-1 defeat at Stoke on Boxing Day and Rodgers admits he is growing frustrated with his side's inability to produce consistent form in the Premier League.
Rodgers accepts he cannot ship out his under-performing stars next month, but he will drop players who fail to show the winning mentality which he feels is central to the club.
Speaking ahead of Sunday's game at QPR, he told the Daily Telegraph: "It's not easily solved.
"It's not like other sports where you can just tell someone 'that's it' and show them the door and they're gone. This is a club that pays big money.
"I'm not saying that about anyone in particular, but it takes that bit of time.
"To play for a club like this there are certain requirements you need. They are not just technical and tactical requirements. You can't have a good match for Liverpool and then three days later have a poor game. This is Liverpool. This is every game of your life .
"You play well on Saturday and then you have to play well in the next game. Then three days later you have to be at the top of your game again. You have to do that for years because that's why you are at a big club. The table doesn't lie. We are in 10th position."
Rodgers believes his team have proved they can hold their own with the big guns in the Premier League and hopes they can climb the table with a winning run.
"We've shown against many of the top teams that we have the game to compete. Against some of the other teams we have shown wonderful demonstrations," he said.
"But it has to be efficient and consistent. That's the single biggest word. We have boys that want to come in and work every day, but it has to be consistent."
