Oldham v Liverpool FA Cup preview: Premier League giants visit Boundary Park

Jonjo Shelvey: Could feature for Liverpool

Oldham welcomed back James Wesolowski from suspension in their midweek defeat by Notts County and the midfielder is likely to keep his starting place against Liverpool.

Captain Dean Furman is still absent on international duty with South Africa at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Former West Ham United midfielder Cristian Montano missed the game against Notts County with his ongoing thigh injury.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is expected to use the game at Oldham to rotate and rest his squad with an eye on Wednesday's Premier League trip to Arsenal.

Glen Johnson has a tight hamstring and is not likely to be risked, while Pepe Reina (nose & thigh) will sit out again in the hope of returning against the Gunners.

Rodgers must decide whether he wants to stick with the blossoming attacking partnership of Luis Suarez and 12million January signing Daniel Sturridge.

But Jonjo Shelvey and Suso are in line to return to the starting line-up for the first time since the third round win at Mansfield.

Jose Enrique and Martin Kelly remain absent through injury, but Brendan Rodgers has revealed that the former - absent since the end of December with a torn hamstring - could also be back next week.
